Three Fun Solutions to Your Holiday Fitness Challenges

November 7, 2013 | Posted By 0 Comments

With Halloween past us, it’s time to set our sights on Thanksgiving preparations, and Christmas is just around the corner. We know things can get hectic at this time of year. That’s why we’ve whipped up a few healthy solutions to the challenges you’ll face this busy holiday season.

Challenge: The typical American gains 7 lbs. at this time of year. Exercise, especially cardio, can help to keep unwanted extra weight off.

Solution: Add a fun and invigorating Jumpboard or Barre class to your workout routine to help burn those extra calories and keep your metabolism revved. Hello radiant energy!

Challenge: With so much to do and prepare for the holidays, this time of year can be STRESSFUL.

Solution: The Pilates breath is a soothing way to relax the body and quiet the mind. Try a Pilates Private or Trio session. You’ll get plenty of individual attention from your instructor, giving you the maximum benefit of perfect form, control and breath. Ah .. now that’s what we call a breath of fresh air!

Challenge: All that holiday shopping, wrapping, decorating and cookie baking can make your muscles tight and sore! This can lead to a foggy feeling of decreased energy and even headaches.

Solution: Feel your best this holiday season! Come to a Yoga Slow Deep Stretch class to work out the kinks. You’ll feel more relaxed and energized to face another day of shopping and festivities.

We know it’s easy to fall into a health and fitness rut at this time of year. That’s why it’s so important to find fun new ways to keep up with your Pilates practice. Remember, you’re always just one decision away from creating the beautiful body and health you crave.
Make the decision that will bring you closer to your goals. Call us at 951-784-7343 to book your appointment or schedule your next class.

Best way to Practice

April 3, 2013 | Posted By 0 Comments

Our mission…

…Is to help you achieve the goals you set for yourself. We are dedicated to helping you create a Pilates practice that will keep you strong and vibrant for a lifetime. That’s why it’s very important to us that you design a practice that works!

One of the improvements we are making is to re-introduce our 3-month training packages for it’s through this type of committed practice that we have seen students get the ABSOLUTE BEST RESULTS and REACH THEIR GOALS!

Here are some of the ways you can create a successful, rewarding Pilates practice:

  1. Talk with your teacher and re-assess your short-term and long-term goals.
  2. Apply your goals to creating a CONSISTENT AND COMMITTED PRACTICE using our 3-month training packages! We recommend 3x/week for best results!

How to do that: Completely Customizable 3-Month Training Programs

  • Pick and choose exactly how you want to practice with any combination of services.

    • We offer packages that help lower your monthly cost!

    • No obligation.

    • Monthly and quarterly re-assessment for best results!

  • OR Choose from our pre-packaged programs:

    • Monthly Unlimited Classes – $85/per month

    • Monthly Unlimited Classes Plus 1 Trio per week – $185/per month

    • Monthly Unlimited Classes Plus 1 Private per week – $285/per month

*All Unlimited Packages require a 3-month auto-pay commitment.*

  • Group classes more your calling?

    • Group Class Packages Available:

      * 5 and 10 packs

      * 90 day expirations

How the 3-Month Training Packages Work: With these training packages you are committing to 3-months of practice, which means after you’ve chosen the services you want i.e. privates, trios, or classes, we schedule you out for 3 months for those particular services and breakdown your cost into 3 monthly automatic (and totally convenient) payments.

  o   After 3 months:

  • We can either continue to re-book you for 3-months of service or you can discuss with your teacher any changes you’d like to make to your packages.

o   What if I want to change my services mid-way through?

  • Let us know and we will do our best to accomodate you. Our goal is to keep you committed to your workouts.

To see results, improve skills and gain a deeper level of strength and understanding, practice is key. That you find a way to practice that works for you and brings you ease is our highest priority.

We are here to make finding the right Pilates practice for you a no-brainer and will help you customize your services in a way that works for you. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have questions and tell us how we can better support you.

With sincerest gratitude,

Tricia Hill and the Articulations Staff

Make Your Own Raw Energy Bars |

June 3, 2012 | Posted By 0 Comments

Making your own raw energy bars can be just as satisfying as buying them because you get to control exactly what ingredients to include and make them taste exactly how you want!

To make them you’re going to need a food processor and a blender (a high speed blender is best ) or a spice/coffee grinder that will grind seeds.

Joseph Pilates History |

| Posted By 0 Comments

The history of Pilates begins with the birth Joseph H. Pilates in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1880. He was the creator of Pilates exercise. His father was a prize winning gymnast and his mother was a neuropath.

He studied both the Eastern and Western forms of exercise including yoga. As he grew, he came to love exercise more and more. In his adolescent years, he often modeled for fitness charts, showing the degree to which his training encompassed.

Pilates seems to have burst onto the fitness scene out of nowhere, but the reality is that this popular body conditioning practice has been around for decades. The story behind Pilates is fascinating and learning more about the origin of this exercise can help you grasp the fundamental philosophy of this mind-body practice.

Aloe Vera Myth or Medicine |

| Posted By 0 Comments

It was about three years ago, whilst I was a full time General Practitioner, a job that I had been doing both at home and abroad for twenty eight years, that I came across Aloe Vera.

I had vaguely heard of it as an addition to various cosmetic products, but I was completely ignorant of its origin and unconcerned about its actions. I was certainly unaware of its fabled medicinal properties and as a strictly conventional physician I had no interest in any form of complementary or alternative medicine. In fact, I was almost dismissive of claims made by alternative practitioners and felt they largely achieved their ‘cures’ by way of a placebo effect. So I left it to others to indulge in acupuncture and applied kinesiology – what was that anyway?

Should anyone have told me that within three years of my meeting with a mother, whose son’s eczema had totally cleared with an Aloe Vera and Bee Propolis cream, that I would be researching its medicinal uses full time, I would have laughed. But it happened. That meeting was to totally change my medical perspective and in fact to change my life.

Ode to Green Smoothies | Raw

| Posted By 0 Comments

As the Russian proverb says: New- is something old, that has been long forgotten. This summer I re-discovered green smoothies. What do I mean by green smoothie? Here is one of my favorite recipes: 4 ripe pears, 1 bunch of parsley and 1 big cup of water. Blended well. This smoothie looks very green, but it tastes like fruit. I like green smoothies so much that I bought an extra blender and placed it in my office, so that I could make green smoothies throughout the day. More than half of all the food I’ve had in last several months have been green smoothies. I have so much more energy and clarity that I have removed green juices from my diet. (Juicing has been something that I’ve been doing regularly for years.) Green smoothies have numerous benefits for human health.

Green smoothies are very nutritious. I believe that the ratio in them is optimal for human consumption: about 60% – ripe organic fruit mixed with about 40% – organic green vegetables

Intro to the Psoas Muscle |

May 16, 2012 | Posted By 0 Comments

Feeling vibrant within your core ultimately depends upon a healthy, juicy and responsive psoas. The psoas (pronounced so-as) is your core muscle and an integral aspect of a centered and functional body. As a major player in back pain, knee injuries and tight hip sockets, it is often the exhausted psoas that disrupts range of motion, as well as digestion, bladder functioning and sexual pleasure.
